Mother Please

She was so young to know any better.

She thought it would last forever.

That they would be together forever.

If only she had now.

That the risk they were taking would go like this.

The commitment they were making would come with a price.

And a child would be formed.

Would her life have been the same?

The day the news came she went into a corner and cried.

Would she have to do it alone?

Or would he still love her and be there?

The disappointment in their eyes.

If only she could go back.

The nine months were hard.

He left her and made her cry.

She had no one and was all alone.

The pain came and it kept getting worse.

After a few hours a baby boy was born.

As they handed her the proof of her mistake she cried.

She had a child.

Though she was still a child.

She gave him everything she could.

Fighting for her life.

Until the day that everything would change.

He was growing up and the news got worse.

He was sick and they didn’t know how long it would last.

Before the little one she was thinking was a mistake was going to be taken.

They kept going on and she prayed he would survive.

As it brought her closer to her own parents now.

She had to be strong for him and for herself.

Because she was so scared.

He was so full of life until it came.

He was dying in her arms.

As she sat there with her mother she said.

“Oh mother please help me I can’t say goodbye tonight.”

Her mother for the first time in a long time held her daughter tight.

As she goes to him the little body so small slowly taking the last breathe of his life.

He looked at her and she held him close saying,

“Oh mother please I don’t want to say goodbye so I’ll say I love you mommy.”

And with that he closed his eyes and she cried.

Her little boy so young and innocent has just died.

She kisses his head and cries because he was the joy in her eyes.

“I don’t want to say goodbye so I will say I love you baby.”
